The first release under the new label "Khrysanthoney" is now available!

Taken from the official Khrysanthoney site:

""Rose curl, Sea swirl" is both the debut of Norfolk English band Sleeping Peonies and the first label release for Khrysanthoney. This pro duplicated/printed CDR is a 7 track demo featuring Sleeping Peonies' unique style of bass heavy black metal and gently flowing dreampop rythms. Dark, tranquil and utterly dreamy, "Rose curl, Sea Swirl" is a sugary treat for lovers of groups as diverse as Alcest, Velvet Cacoon and Cocteau Twins."

We decided to reprint the jackets to the "P aa opal poere pr. 33" 10" release after we discovered many of them damaged, scratched and pretty much beaten to a bloody pulp. The reprints are a 10.5"x10.5" black envelope (ala the CD version) with a new design printed in metallic silver ink. We think these are both gorgeous and faithful to the original CD edition of "33" (see pictures below). The remaining gatefold jackets left over from the original run have since been sealed into ivory vats and dropped off a pier overlooking the mouth of the Columbia river.

We're in the process of remodeling our site. Frequent changes to the layout scheme will be made over the course of the next week, so don't panic! :-)

April 30th, 2010
We've undertaken a completely new venture titled Khrysanthoney; a small label focused on raw and pop driven black metal. The first release will be the planned Sleeping Peonies demo followed by the Clair Cassis EPs. You can visit Khrysanthoney here:

April 27th, 2010
-Sleeping Peonies debut demo "Rose curl, Sea swirl" will be out early May in limited CD format. Fans longing for the aquaticism of Velvet Cacoon and dreampop junkies may be pleasantly surprised. :-)

-The USPS came out with new international customs forms that allow the customer to keep a receipt of the sent package. This works out great for everybody so now we don't have to include the extra charge we'd normally need for the certificate of mailing. So, this means a slight reduction in postage prices (by about $1 per order). Not great, but hey, it's a savings. ;-b

April 18th, 2010
-New interview with Sleeping Peonies added to Macrocosm!

April 10th, 2010
-We went fishing on a distant alien planet over the weekend and came back with a strange little creature called Sleeping Peonies, which has graciously volunteered to run through a battery of experiments starting next month. For now, we have placed this creature in our colony.

-After we printed the first batch of Clair Cassis jackets we didn't notice that there was a misprint on the back panel. Very few of these misprinted jackets made it out, and the remaining copies were stuffed into a rocket and sent directly into outer space. We printed new jackets which you can get for free if you'd like from our store (you pay shipping). Otherwise, All orders of the LP from now on will arrive with the new, correctly printed jacket. :-)

-New reviews of Velvet Cacoon's "33" and Bird from the Abyss's "II" have been added to the reviews section.

March 30th, 2010
-We decided to set up our first official message forum. It can be accessed here: FORUM. Sign up a Last FM account and join the group. It's kinda just an experiment for now. If everything goes well we'll keep it around. If not, we'll nuke it and never think of having a discussion group ever again. ;-b

-Thanks to all who have ordered the new releases including the Velvet Cacoon and Clair Cassis vinyls! All orders have already been shipped so when you get your items don't hesitate to drop us a line to let us know what you think. :-)

March 21st, 2010
-EUROPEAN CUSTOMERS MUST ORDER THE VELVET CACOON AND CLAIR CASSIS LP FROM doomentia.com, I REPEAT, EUROPEAN CUSTOMERS MUST ORDER THE VELVET CACOON AND CLAIR CASSIS LP FROM doomentia.com, THIS IS NOT A DRILL, I REPEAT EUROPEAN CUSTOMERS MUST ORDER THE VELVET CACOON AND CLAIR CASSIS LP FROM doomentia.com!

Thanks! ;-)

-If you're having difficulties signing up an account with our new store or using the paypal system, what should you do?

A.) Tell a friend and hope he can fix it.
B.) Call your local congressmen and file a formal complaint.
C.) Email the curator of Starlight Temple Society @: starlighttemplesociety@gmail.com and let him know there is an issue so he can fix it.
D.) Do drugs.

If you picked A, B, or....yes, even C, then you're probably doing it wrong. Now if you picked D, then you've done it right, because the secrets of our universe are found in pills, powder and things. :-)

-A note on packing.

Some customers have been curious about the way we pack our LPs. We double box them, because we want to ensure that they're safe during transit. The added packaging and extra weight adds to the price, but honestly, we feel it's worth it.:

Step 1: LP is loaded in standard mailer. (Notice Kvl+ LP, it's MINE !XXX!)

Step 2: Standard cardboard mailer is loaded into a heavy uline box.

Step 3: Everything is sealed shut.

Step 4: We take a break and do drugs.

March 19th, 2010
-Wow, where to begin? :-)

-Starlight Temple Society is happy to announce it's partnership with postrock / black metal band Dekadent Aesthetix. These Romanians released a deadly album on the Aussie label Goatowarex and will be working with us to release their second sometime in the near future. You can check them out in the meantime via their official site by Clicking here.

-Velvet Cacoon's "P aa opal poere pr. 33" double 10" LP and Clair Cassis' debut album on 12" vinyl format are both available to order from Starlight Temple Society. We've decided to double box our LPs. This will add a little cost to the postage and base price, but to ensure that they reach their destination without damage we consider this the very best option. Our goal is to make you happy after all. :-).

-We'll have 300 copies of the Clair Cassis album in stock and 400 copies of the Velvet Cacoon double 10", while the remainder of each (each album was printed in 500 copies) will be distributed by Doomentia exclusively for European customers. If you're from Europe make sure you visit Doomentia to order your copies by Clicking here.

-We have three new additional releases out now!
*Lonesummer "Satisfaction feels like a tomb" CD (second demo)
The new demo by Lonesummer was mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö and features a special guest appearance by Luca Turilli himself!

*Hamnskifte "Födzlepijnan" CD debut
A very mysterious band from parts unknown. This will be their first release and we're more than happy to assist them with it! (if for no other reason than to deepen our own mysterious ways and create more scene panic, more hype, more drama or whatever it is we're typically known for.)

*Roba El Khaliyeh "A psychotic world for a psychotic Satanist" CD ep
This release was supposed to have been out along with their debut in 2009, but for reasons unknown the artwork wasn't finished until now, and that strikes us as being very mysterious (*panic*). Click Here for additional information!

-Two new Clair Cassis videos are presented below. Enjoy!

In the Shadow of the Temple of Starlight

Birds From the Abyss "II"
Akhlys "Supplication"

Reviews by Beau Hix

There is a temple hidden somewhere in the great expanses of the Pacific Northwest where mystiks and musicians have gathered to perform grand rituals of unknown origins. I set out to find this Temple, and it's inhabitants, known as the Starlight Temple Society, to attempt to uncover their mysterious motives. To find this secret Temple, I wandered through endless forest under white moon. I began to faintly hear the primitive sounds of ancient flutes and leather-bound drums pounding towards the sky. As I followed the sounds I came upon an rusted old steel gate. As I pushed it open I noticed a huge structure on the crest of a hill, but before I could fixate too long on the massive Temple, my focus was summarily drawn to a mysterious group of Pharaohs in strange garb, all huddled around a fire on the outskirts of the expanse, still playing their ceremonial dirge, perhaps to put a lost spirit to rest, or maybe, to raise a spirit from the abyss. I'm not sure how long I stood there watching with the fire in my eyes, as I suddenly awoke, still standing in the same place. I decided it best to leave said conjurers alone and circle around them towards the temple. The Birds from the Abyss ritual of ancient folk hymns would lead well into the Sacred Night, often times pulsing to loud crescendos, but I was too intrigued by the Temple.

Upon reaching the Temple I began to hear a low howl, or an echo of some sort resonating from inside. I initially believed this to be the sound of monks chanting, but as I opened the giant door, I found no one inside. It was the sound of Akhlys emanating from the ancient grey Temple that drew me in... its ominous tone still faint as I walked the massive entry way, with enormous pillars reaching so high that I could not make out the ceiling. After walking the length of the Temple I found a dimly-lit staircase leading down a flight of stairs. I had initially wanted to find a way to the top of the Temple, perhaps finding a balcony from which to get an overview of the land surrounding, but it is at this point that I heard a whispered voice that compelled me to head to the lower levels. By now, I was thoroughly terrified, but for whatever reason, I could not stop descending the stairs. After spiraling down the concrete walkway for what seemed hours, I finally reached the pitch-black bottom, where only one room awaited me. Never had a heard such a lifeless, heartless sound as I had in that room, its cold form surrounding and enveloping me. It is then that I noticed a strange cloaked figure kneeling not 10 feet in front of me, with its back facing my terrified form. As the ageless entity slowly began to move, I froze. As I caught a glimpse of her empty face, my heart overloaded.

The next thing I remember is standing back at the gate watching the Pharaohs playing their dirge under the white moon.

Thanks to Beau/HSS and their continued support of Starlight Temple Society!

This merger is a huge opportunity for STS to ascend the corporate ladder of the music industry, hopefully giving us the chance to reach out to new clients previously discontent over our artsy DIY approach, low prices, fast & friendly service, and general disregard for pseudo-elitist snobbery..... MORE INFO COMING SOON!

November 1st, 2009
Associates of Starlight Temple Society have uncovered rumors of a "fake" Velvet Cacoon EP appearing on the band's Last Fm page: Fake Velvet Cacoon EP. This "fake" EP is actually Schrei Aus Stein's "Couloir", and has nothing to do with the aforementioned band aside from some audial similarities. Nice try though. :-)
